The producers behind the megahit phenomenon "American Idol" take the
musical reality genre to a whole new performance level as they search for
"The Next Great American Band." Singer and songwriter John Rzeznik, legendary
percussionist and performer Sheila E. and Australian TV personality
Ian "Dicko" Dickson serve as judges while Dominic Bowden hosts.
From the auditions, judges Rzeznik, Sheila E. and Dickson will narrow down the
hopefuls to 12 semifinalist bands who will perform weekly in front of a live
studio audience. From hair bands to hip-hop, classic rockers to country crooners,
every music genre is represented as bands perform the varied styles each week.
Then it will be up to viewers to vote who should win a contract with 19 Recordings
and earn the title of "The Next Great American Band."
