Eve Arden's Successful Our Miss Brooks program ended the previous season.
In this short-lived series she was cast as novelist Liza Hammond.
Liza was a widow who supplemented her writing income by giving lectures,
and George Howell was the head of the lecture bureau that booked her tours.
While Liza was out lecturing the population, her 12-year-old twin daughters,
Jenny and Mary, were at home being looked after by her mother, Nora.
The series was based on the autobiography of the writer Emily Kimbrough.
