This political drama is set inside the nation's ultimate fortress:
the Pentagon. It's a hub of highly explosive conflicts between American
military heroes and the civilians to whom they report -- a world where
crises can escalate into life-and-death climaxes, for individuals or
entire nations. Critical decisions by intelligence officers in the war
room -- and the execution of these decisions by covert special ops on the
battlefield -- happen every day. The number-one mission is survival of
the state, an often-delicate balance between protecting the homeland
and protecting either all of mankind or the life of a lone soldier.

Major Jim “JT” Tisnewski, a former special forces operative promoted out of
the field to the US Special Operations Command in the Pentagon’s E-Ring.
While the Pentagon is a world away from the full throttle lifestyle that JT
experienced in the field, he soon learns that his new job has a million
dangers all of its own. In the pressure cooker of national security and
international interests, life and decisions are, if anything, a more
regular occurrence and on a completely different scale.
The tiniest mistake can have the direst of consequences.

JT struggles to make the adjustment to the politics of Washington, particularly
when much of the pressures seem to be self-made by the inter agency rivalries
and the natural friction between the men in uniform and the civilian authorities to
whom they are answerable. But under the guidance of his irreverent but forever
resourceful commanding officer, Colonel Eli McNulty, JT will navigate the
bureaucratic minefields and provide the solutions to problems the world
outside the Pentagon will never know existed.

“E-Ring” was inspired by the real experiences of co-creator Ken Robinson who
served for twenty years in the US military with the Rangers, Special Forces
and the CIA’s non-official cover (NOC) operatives. Robinson currently
moonlights as a CNN military intelligence analyst.
