This series was an outgrowth of The Blue Collar Comedy
Tour, which had brought broad, good-old-boy, low-brow humor
to audiences around the country. Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the
Cable Guy and Bill Engvall, who had starred on the tour, were
also the featured performers on the series. Each episode
included sketches, TV parodies and stand-up segments all
loosely tied to a theme. The first episode's theme was Family
and contained the skits "House of Gravy Restaurant," "400
Pounds of Intervention," and "Big Kids." Subsequent themes
included Naked, TV, Bad Jobs, Marriage, Vacations, Sports
and Getting Sick. Two regular features were The Redneck
Dictionary Word of the Day and The Redneck Yard of the
Week Award. There were also musical performances by country
artists. Although not a regular, comedian Ron White, who
had been featured on The Blue Collar Comedy Tour,
made a number of appearances on the show.
