One of the greatest medical dramas in television history.
Much of its success was due to its lead, the handsome,
virile Vince Edwards, who was discovered by Bing Crosby.
Casey's mentor was Dr. David Zorba, who guided the gifted
young resident surgeon in his battles with disease and
the medical establishment. Ben Casey frequently tackled
controversial subjects and exued a feeling of realism
and tension, which was emphasized by extreme
closeup shots in moments of crisis.
